We use our phones for making calls, texting and surfing net more than anything else, but when any problem occur that stop us from making all those three things then one will feel bad because all those necessary things cannot be done without an active sim card. Among the most common sim card problems is sim card not detected, this problem can stop one from making all the primary sim card operations because the problem is bit similar to emergency calls only and invalid sim card problems.
Solving this kind of problem is not something big without taking your sim card to the network service center. As the name suggests, sim card not detected concluded that the sim card is not properly placed in the sim socket or sim tray but sometimes there are some other things that can cause this problem, but fortunately one can fix this by trying the four solutions we are going to provide. Read and apply the steps carefully.
Reboot your device
The first step for solving any problem related to your phone is to make a reboot. Rebooting is very important even if your phone is in good condition; it increases your device performance, fix application issues, reset cellular network problem. In order to reboot your device, press and hold the power button for three to four seconds and then select reboot but for some device it is named as restart, after rebooting complete then try checking your sim card status to see if this solve your problem.
Manual network operator
Changing your network operator to manual mode can fix this problem, because this specifically points to your particular service provider. To change your network operator follow these steps.
1. Navigate to your phone settings and select cellular networks or mobile networks.
2. From the next screen move to the sim card tab with this problem then select network operators then tap on search networks and patiently wait for five to ten seconds to finish fetching the network operator list.
3. When it finishes loading then select your network provider from the network lists.
Remove and insert the sim card
When the sim card is not properly placed in the sim card socket or sim card tray then this can prevent the sim card pins from making contact with the sim sockets. Removing and re-inserting the sim card can fix the separation. In order to remove your sim card follow these steps.
1. Shutdown your phone completely
2. Gently remove the phone battery by removing the battery cover
3. Remove the sim card from the sim socket or sim tray then re-inserts it properly then ON your device to see if it fixes your problem.
Activating airplane mode
This can fix sim card not detected problem because airplane mode resets your cellular network by enabling it for ten seconds and disable it. To enable airplane mode on your phone follow the steps below.
1. Drag down status bar and click on airplane mode icon for some seconds then disable it to see if it will solve your problem.
2. For iOS users, open your control center by sliding the bottom of your screen then click on the airplane mode icon for some seconds then disable it which is normally inside network category.
Factory reset
Before performing factory reset on your phone make sure you try inserting the sim card with this issue on another phone, if it works then the problem is with your phone by then you can try doing factory reset, but keep in mind your data will be lost if you did not backup your data. Always consider factory reset as the last option when your phone has any problem because the disadvantage of this, it will wipe all your data but the probability of solving any related issue of your device is very high after doing factory reset.
Trying all of the above steps can solve your problem but in some cases the issue is related to hardware problem, if you found that the problem persists after trying all you can then consider taking your device to the repair expert.
