Sending automatic SMS in gionee s10 series is something very common, the reason for this automatic SMS is due to one to two things, but the most familiar reason behind this is sending sales track information to the phone company. The auto SMS result in auto airtime deduction and this is what makes the users frustrated because the SMS charges is too high which is usually fifty naira to above. Some users recently complain that they can’t stop the automatic airtime deduction on their phones despite trying all the possible solutions they can but always things go in vain because they don’t know the root cause of this issue.
This kind of issue is not something to keep worrying about if it is not affecting you financially, this is what I normally tell any of my friends and my clients if they have this kind of problem on their phones, but what i always get in response is that this automatic SMS airtime deduction is really affecting them financially because it is not something once or twice a day this means it always send the SMS automatically as long as one have an airtime in his phone till it finishes, and finally this is what makes me to start doing some research on how to solve this problem.
This kind of problem is normally on London used gionee s10 series, many people will think this as a big problem but they don’t know that the phone company doesn’t uses this method to get something from you in fact the company uses this to get the sales tracking information of their phones being purchased by using an inbuilt system app which is GN_SalesTrack_GI for collecting the sales tracking data.
Let me cut the length here to go direct to the main point, which is how to stop auto SMS and airtime deduction on gionee s10 series. Before trying the solutions I am going to provide check the requirements below.
1. Good USB cable.
2. A computer or laptop.
Below are the steps, but before trying this it is good idea to have small computer knowledge but if you don’t have don’t worry I will try my best to explain everything very well. In this post we are using windows OS for explanations.
How to stop the auto SMS and airtime deduction
1. Connect your computer to the internet then open any of your computer browser and type this in address search bar ‘platform tools adb download’ then click enter.
2. Select ‘SDK Platform Tools release notes – Android Developers’ from the search results.
3. After the site finishes loading then scroll down carefully and click on the blue highlighted link with this text ( Download SDK Platform-Tools for Windows) in order to download the platform tools, wait patiently for the download to finish. You can select any of the three provided links based on your computer OS.
4. After the download finishes then open your computer downloads folder and extract the downloaded file because it is in zip format.
5. After extracting the file then open the extracted folder (platform-tools) till you see all the folder contents which are adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll and so on.
6. Right inside the folder (platform tools) on your keyboard hold shift key then press right click, from the pop up options click on ‘open cmd (command prompt) here’, this will open new command shell window in the current directory.
7. Now connect your phone having this problem using USB cable with the computer then select MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) mode when your phone prompted to select USB connection mode, and make sure that you enable your USB debugging in developer options by navigating to your phone settings > developer options > USB debugging. If you didn’t find developer options in your phone settings then select about phone in your phone settings then continuously tap on build number up to four times until you see ‘you are now developer’, then head back to your phone settings home and look for the developer options.
After your phone is successfully connected to the computer then below are commands to type in the command prompt.
Command 1: adb devices. This command will show your connected phone, if you didn’t see your device then try removing the USB cable and re-insert again.
Command 2: adb shell.
Command 3: pm uninstall –k –user 0 gn.com.android.salestrackgi.
Command 4: pm uninstall –k –user 0 gn.com.android.salestrackgi2.
Command 5: pm uninstall –k –user 0 com.gionee.cloud.gpe.
Look at the image below carefully for command illustrations.
If you got any error while executing any commands above then try checking your spellings. After typing all the above commands then the inbuilt system app (GN_SalesTrack_GI) that is responsible for sending the automatic SMS will stop sending the SMS. Doing this doesn’t mean you completely uninstall the app but you hide it from the system and stopping it from doing its function.
Note that: this post is based on helping you to get rid of automatic airtime deduction on all gionee s10 series, doing this to any of your phone system apps will make your phone to malfunction, always try to apply the appropriate solution based on your device problem.
