Emergency calls only
When your phone carrier name changes to emergency calls only then this will bring this kind of problem because as the name implies, emergency calls only restrict all your carrier network operations like sending and receiving messages, making phone calls and surfing internet.
Solution: Try enabling flight mode for twenty seconds then disable it and try sending your message again or try switching your network mode from automatic to manual mode; this can be done by following the steps below.
1. Head to your phone settings and open network connections (or something similar to that).
2. From the provided options tap on cellular networks (mobile networks).
3. Then click on network operators from the next screen and click on search networks, for some phones this is named as manual search.
4. Wait patiently for the network searching to finish then select your network operator from the provided network lists.
Following the above steps will change your network operator mode from automatic to manual and this can fix emergency calls only if it is responsible for message not sent on your phone. If trying this method didn’t fix your problem then try next solutions.
Deleted SMS service center (SMSC)
When you mistakenly deleted your SMS service center or got deleted by installing any corrupted file on your phone or by flashing your phone ROM then all these can stop you from sending SMS. Many people don’t know about this; instead they always use to blame something different. SMS service center serve as message medium between sender and recipient, it stores any sent message on your phone then forward it to the SMS service center then later forward it to the destination. The reason why your message is first sent to the SMS service center is that when the recipient is not available then the SMS service center will save the message and later send it to the destination when the receiver is available.
Solution: one can recover deleted SMS service center by following the steps below.
1. Open your message app then tap on the three dots from the top right hand corner.
2. Select settings from the options and click on text message (SMS) from the next screen.
3. Tap on SMS service center from the next screen and click on the carrier name with this issue.
4. Fill the provided field with your SMS service center number. If you don’t know your SMS service center number then navigate to your phone browser then google it by writing this in your browser search bar ‘carrier-name SMS service center number’, but don’t forget to change the ‘carrier-name’ with your network carrier name. Example ‘Glo SMS service center number’
Alternative you can try the second method by using your phone dialer.
1. Open your phone dialer app and dial *#*#4636#*#*, after dialing those code there is no need to press call button because this will automatically open your phone testing window after dialing those codes.
2. Tap on the phone information from the testing options. But some phones has phone information1 and phone information2, select based on the sim giving you this problem.
3. Then scroll down and look for SMS: with input field in front of it then tap on the provided input field and type your SMS service center number and click on update button next to the input field.
After finishing the above steps then try sending your message to see if it solves your problem. If you found this post to be helpful then share it with your friends by using the share icons below.
