Many don’t know the use of call forwarding and call diverts on their phones. Any feature in a smartphone has its own function. We are familiar with most of the basic functionalities which are making calls, texting, surfing net and so on. Call forwarding or call diverts is among the most unfamiliar features on our smartphones, and it is more than you know because it has a lot to touch.
Call forwarding is a feature in mobile phones that use to transmit or transfer a specific call to another user when original person is not reachable or unanswered. When you enable call forwarding on your phone with a particular phone number of someone other than yours then whenever you receive a call if you couldn’t pick the call then it will automatically forwarded to that number you use to set up the call forwarding.
Whenever someone is trying to reach you through your phone number then one cannot be able to get you when not answered but to someone else, meaning you will receive the call but if don’t pick up the call then it will go the forwarded phone number. Callers would know that if call forwarding is being set to the number that they are trying to call by getting voice response from the network before picking the call, these voice message can be “your call is being forwarded” or any other message because this is based on the type of your network operator.
When call forwarding is being set up in a phone number, if someone tries to call that number then this means that two calls are being connected together instead of one, that is incoming call and outgoing call. The phone number that is set up for the call forwarding now served as a connector between the caller and the phone number to be redirected if not picked by the first number.
There is some slight difference between call forwarding and call diversion, here are the differences.
Call forwarding: If call forwarding is being set up on a second number by first number then if a person calls the first number, then first number can be able to receive and pick the call but if the first number is not available or not reachable then the call will be forwarded to the second number.
Call divert: if call diverts is being set up on first number by second number, when someone call the second number then the second number will not receive the call which means it will automatically redirected to the first number even if the second number is available.
Using call forwarding has so many advantages if to mention. Call forwarding is being used since many years back and it is still being using by many companies and employees because when call forwarding is being set up to your working telephone in an office you can still receive your important calls through your personal phone everywhere you go. This is a good advantage to people that are working in their home town and abroad because when call forwarding is being set up to your home office you can receive your call from your customers when you are around and still receive their call when you are abroad.
Setting up call forwarding or call diverts require less than a minute, all it need is two functioning phone numbers, the phone number to be redirected (phone number to receive the call) and the one to send the redirection (phone number that is being redirected to the other number). In order to set up call forwarding on your phone then kindly call your network operator to be guided or use the manual method provided by your phone manufacturer by navigating to your call app and open the call settings and select a specific phone number that you want to set up for call forwarding.
If to choose between call forwarding and call diverts then always go for call forwarding because it has a higher chance to answer a call since both of the numbers can receive the calls.
